How does it work ?

How can I unlock my BlackBerry?

Home BlackBerry

Remember: before following these instructions, you should first order your BlackBerry unlock code.
Once you have received your BlackBerry unlock code, you can follow these simple instructions:

METHOD 1 (for all new models, ex: Bold 9900, Curve 9320, Z10 etc…)

Insert a SIM card from a DIFFERENT carrier (a non-accepted SIM card).
The phone will ask for the MEP2 NETWORK UNLOCK CODE.

If your phone doesn't ask for a code, please follow "Method 2" below.

Note: On the right hand side of the prompt you will see "X left", where X is the number of tries you have left to enter the code. NEVER let this number go below 4.
Once you get to 0, your phone will be hard-locked and will be permanently locked to the current carrier. Contact us if you have less than 4 tries.

Enter the 8- or 16-digit unlock code that we provided you. If you entered the code correctly you will be sent to the homescreen.

Once unlocked, turn all network connections ON.
Then, please reset your phone.

You can do this in two ways:

1) Remove the battery while the phone is on and re-insert the battery.

OR

2) You can press and hold ALT+RIGHT SHIFT+Backspace/Delete in that order.

Please note: If you plan on using your Blackberry with another carrier/network, please make sure your phone is compatible with the carrier/network you wish to transfer to. Please call the carrier or visit their website to find this information.

METHOD 2 (for all other models, ex: Curve 8520 etc…):

- Go to Options
- Go to Device
- Go to Advanced System Settings
- Go to SIM Card
- Type "mepd" or hold ALT and type "mepd" (please note that you will not see what you type on the screen). A new menu should drop down.
If your phone is locked you will see "Active" or "Enabled" beside "Network". If it states "Inactive" or "Disabled" then your phone is already unlocked!
- Type: "mep2" (Hold ALT and press 2 to get the number 2) (Please note that you will NOT see what you type on the screen)
- It will ask you for the unlock code. Enter the 8- or 16-digit unlock code we sent you and then press enter to confirm (only enter the unlock code once!). If you entered the code correctly you will be sent to the homescreen. Your phone is now unlocked!

Please note: If you plan on using your Blackberry with another carrier/network, please make sure your phone is compatible with the carrier/network you wish to transfer to. Please call the carrier or visit their website to find this information.
